  • Not Permitted to Register
    • This error message appears when you attempt to register using a personal email address in the customer-only web sites. Select Learning Compass from the first drop-down list at the top.
    • If you are a traveler, contractor, student or otherwise do not have an email account issued by a BD customer facility, you must use https://bd.com/LearningCompass  to register and log in. Select "Other" or "Student" as your user type.
    • You must see the words "BD Learning Compass" in the Welcome message to be in the right place for login.
  • No Activation Email Received?
    • Did you Qualify for Automatic Approval?
      • Customers:
        • Your account is automatically approved and the system sends an activation email to the email address you entered immediately if:
          • You registered with a valid work email address, and
          • You selected Customer in the User Type field, and
          • You selected your facility from the drop-down list, and
          • Your email address is recognized by the system
      • Traveler, Agency, Contractors and other non-direct employees
        • Your account is automatically approved and the system sends an activation email to the email address you entered immediately if:
          • You registered with a valid email address, (agency, personal, gmail, yahoo, and any other email account is eligible here), and
          • You selected Other in the User Type field, and
          • You selected your facility from the drop-down list
          • Any other setting will require manual approval.
      • Student
        • Your account is automatically approved and the system sends an activation email to the email address you entered immediately if:
          • You registered with a valid email address, (educational institution, personal, gmail, yahoo, and any other email account is eligible here), and
          • You selected Student in the User Type field, and
          • You selected your Educational Institution from the dropdown list
      • If you did not receive your Activation Email within 20 minutes after you registered, the email may have been sent to your bulk/junk/spam folder. Please check with your IT department on the spam filtering process, and make sure they accept emails from noreply@bd.comcpsupport@bd.com and LearningCompass@bd.com.

    • If you did not Quality for Automatic Approval
      • If any of the above requirements are not met, your account will be placed in a manual review status.
      • Couldn’t Find your Facility or Educational Institution? If you typed your facility or educational institution name and address, our agents must update your account manually.
      • When you register during our business hours, we usually approve your registration within the same day.
      • Outside of our business hours and on the weekends, approval can take up to one business day.
  • Did you miskey your email address? If so, the activation email cannot be delivered. Please re-register with the correct email address.

  • Mail.Mil or Navy.mil email account users: The link in the Activation Email doesn’t work.
    • Your employer has implemented a security policy that replaces the beginning part of the web address with “ Caution-https: //eim.carefusion.com…”
    • Highlight and copy the activation web page address (press Ctrl-C) starting with https: // part (with no spaces…we only typed a space here so you can see it and your server won’t “correct” it), open a browser, click into the address bar, and press Ctrl-V to paste the rest of the activation web address right after it, with no spaces.
    • Be careful to highlight the whole activation message; it can appear to be 3 lines long. Remove any extra spaces that your email service inserted.
    • Need help with copy and paste? Click this link for how to use copy and paste on YouTube.

  • Can’t Register or log in with Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL and other email addresses not issued by a customer facility
    • Learning Compass participates in the BD Customer single sign-on environment, which provides services to validated customers. You will not be permitted to access these reserved areas.
    • For you to have full access to Learning Compass, please register only at our special link: https://bd.com/LearningCompass. The registration screen must say Learning Compass in the top drop-down list.
      • If your facility does not issue a work email address, select Other or Student when registering instead of Customer.
      • Important: Select your facility or Educational Institution from the drop-down list.
        • You will still have access to the end user tutorials for all the products.
        • To access advanced content and other BD Customer Service applications, you will need to use an email account that has your employer’s email domain.
        • Contact us at LearningCompass@bd.com  if you need to upgrade your account to a full Customer account.

  • Generic Account Users:
    • Learning Compass only lets one person at a time log in with a given account. If a subsequent person logs in, the other user will experience an error that a peer has cancelled their session.
    • It’s easy for your users can get valid certificates in their own names with minimal data entry: we can help by pre-loading users. Search for “Import” inside Learning Compass for more details on how to submit a list of users. Make sure to discuss that option with your support agent when we respond.
    • Educators: You can now make assignments to your audience and track their progress. See the curriculum “Become a Customer Learning Manager in BD Learning Compass” to learn more about his feature.

  • Single Sign-on Error Message When Logging In:
    • Some users have reported Single Sign-on errors. This happens when information is missing from your profile.
    • This can happen if you registered before 2017, and Learning Compass needs more information from you, or if your account has a new number in the system.
    • If you experience this error, please let us know which job title and to which facility you should be associated.
    • Let us know if all the users at your facility have a new email address. We can fix that proactively for your colleagues if we know the old and new email address, and the required date of the change.
